I love the concept of having strong opinions and fighting for them to the very end as long as you are willing to change your opinion at the drop of a dime. Given that new information or a new way of looking at a subject presents itself which changes the foundation upon which the opinion is built; then change or drop that opinion.
People are not used to opinions being easily changed though. Often it’s penalised. And often the penalisation is in the currency of credibility. That’s a damn shame.
Who wants to follow the stubborn-headed idiot who doesn’t change their mind? Not me. I think at times people confuse strong opinions weakly held with some opinions strongly held. Don’t do that, it’s stupid.
